This is ideal for those who will be sharing the rack with a partner whose feet might be much bigger or smaller than theirs. Some also come with compartments of varying sizes to fit a broader range of shoe sizes and types. VersatilityĪs mentioned above, some of the best over-the-door shoe racks come with extra-big pockets, cubbies, or cloth drawers to store items like socks or purses. Others have smaller, more rounded hooks that hang from a hanger rod within a closet. The thin hooks don’t inhibit the door from closing, and the rack can easily be moved or shifted.Ī few racks require extra hardware and might even need holes to be drilled into the door to hang hooks. These are popular because they don’t require extra hardware or put any holes in the door itself. Most over-the-door shoe racks are hung onto the door using a large hook that holds onto the rack and then reaches over the top of the door. Alternatively, for heels, boots, or gym shoes, cubbies won’t collapse down on the shoe and ruin any delicate material or designs. The pockets don’t take up too much space, but they hold the sandals nicely. Depending on the space available, the size of the shoes, and the number of shoes, one of those types may work better than the others.įor example, for collections of sandals and flip-flops, a soft-sided pocket shoe rack might be ideal. Metal hooks enable shoes to slide over and hang.Īll three of these forms come in various styles, but those are the basics.Stiff-sided cubbies allow shoes to sit inside on mini shelves.Soft-sided styles have pocketlike compartments to hold the shoes.Hanging shoe racks come in three primary forms: These additional features can make getting ready in the morning much more manageable. There are also many over-the-door shoe racks that include storage for other items like socks, handbags, and more. However, ensuring there is enough space for a beloved shoe collection is vital. There is no reason to purchase an extra-large model for just three pairs of shoes. No matter where you fall on the spectrum, the shoe rack’s size and capacity need to fit those needs. Size and CapacityĪlthough some people might have only two to four pairs of shoes, many have 15 or more. If a room has a muted, neutral color pallet, a bright-pink plastic shoe rack would not coordinate very nicely. Third, the aesthetics of the material will affect how the rack looks in the space. The plastic makes it easy to see the shoes, and it’s easier to wipe the dirt off when dirty garden shoes get shoved in there. Many shoe racks feature a combination of fabric and clear plastic. Second, the material must be easy to clean. A robust material will hold up over time. Shoes are often dirty, and they tend to be thrown around or shoved back into the rack. First, the durability of the material is critical. Shoe racks are made up of various materials, including canvas fabric, plastic, metal, and mesh, and the material the shoe rack is made of matters for a few reasons. Material, size, versatility, and other design characteristics all determine what makes a great shoe rack for a home. To avoid ending up with a product that isn’t up to snuff, consider which features the best over-the-door shoe rack should have. Nash What to Consider When Choosing the Best Over-the-Door Shoe Rack

In other words, Epic thinks that iPhones should be more like Windows 10 PCs, where you don't have to use the Microsoft Store to buy or sell software if you don't want to. And according to Epic, Apple's rules for third-party iOS apps aren't just unfair: they're anti-competitive and illegal.Įpic wants Apple to let users install apps that aren't distributed on the App Store, and for it to let developers use their own in-app payment processing, bypassing Apple's fee. iOS apps also have to use Apple's payment processing for in-app purchases of digital items (Fortnite V-bucks, for example), and Apple takes a cut of that, too.Įpic says that iOS is an unavoidable operating system for mobile devs-most people either have an iPhone or an Android phone-and so it's not fair that Apple forces everyone to play by its "oppressive" rules. Software developers who want to release iPhone apps must do so through the iOS App Store, where Apple takes a cut of each sale. In the trial, Epic will reference "antitrust laws," which are laws against anti-competitive behavior. The term "antitrust" is similar, but refers to efforts to counter monopolies. There are nearly two million apps available to iOS users, and because they have to go through an approval process, Apple can ensure that people are getting a vetted experience.Epic says that what Apple is doing is "anti-competitive" and that it has "monopoly power," which both mean that Epic thinks Apple has too much control over a market. This has led some companies to directly skip putting their apps on the App Store, like Xbox Game Pass.Īpple, on the other hand, is going to position the App Store, and the security oversight that comes with the App store, as crucial. Or, to quote the Eagles, you can never leave once you’re in it. On the first day of the trial, Epic’s lawyers referred to Apple’s ecosystem as a walled garden. “Apple imposes unreasonable and unlawful restraints to completely monopolize both markets and prevent software developers from reaching the over one billion users of its mobile devices unless they go through a single store controlled by Apple, the App Store, where Apple exacts an oppressive 30% tax on the sale of every app,” Epic said at the time in its lawsuit.ĭespite it being the same cut imposed by other companies, including Microsoft, Sony, and Nintendo, Epic is arguing that customers on iPhones and iPad devices should have alternative payment options on the hardware they use. This includes signing up for a streaming service like HBO Max as well as microtransactions or cosmetic items in games.īefore Epic Games circumvented Apple’s policies by giving players in-game the choice of how to pay for things like V-Bucks (a move that Epic Games knew would get the app removed from the store for violating policies), the company was also forced to give Apple a cut of the profit. The trial, which kicked off today with testimony from Epic Games CEO Tim Sweeney, will try to answer one question: do Apple’s in-app purchase policies violate antitrust law? Back when Epic Games filed a lawsuit against Apple for “anti-competitive restraints and monopolistic practices” - as stated in the original lawsuit - the Fortnite developer alleged that Apple’s policies were unfair to both Epic and millions of other developers.Īpple takes 30% of every in-app purchase made through apps available in its App Store. The trial proceedings should be wrapped up by 3:15pm PT.Įpic Games and Apple are locked in a trial over alleged antitrust practices by the iPhone maker that could see the entire App Store ecosystem change depending on the outcome. Ultimately, if you continue to get the "Google Drive access denied" error message then the only way is to wait and check after a few minutes or an hour. Logout from your account and log in again.Extensions with different credentials than the file you want to open can create a conflict between accounts. In this way, your browser will ignore whatever account you have logged into. Still, in case that the error persists or you'd like to try out a different approach, there are a few extra solutions: The former solutions should work in most situations. Other Common Recommendations for “Google Drive Access Denied” The process doesn't differ much in Google Chrome or any other Chromium flavor: Go to Settings » Privacy and Security » See all cookies and site data, find the site's data and delete it. There you can search and delete Google and Google Drive's cookies and site data. For doing so, in Mozilla Firefox go to Preferences » Privacy and Security » Cookies and Site Data and click on the Manage Data. Therefore, a more practical approach consists of deleting Google's cookies exclusively. Deleting all our browsing data, nevertheless, has the downside of forcing us to login into all of our accounts once again. Hence, cleaning our web browsing history will suffice. Download File with Google Drive API on New Message from Discord API. If you want to open another document, just go to your Google Drive card and click on it.Īs we have mentioned, the "Google Drive access denied" error stems from the browser storing credentials of different accounts logged in simultaneously.Stack will do so in a new card next to Google Drive's. To illustrate, let's say you want to open multiple Google Drive files at the same time: Stack treats web tabs as cards, which can be opened side by side. This cutting-edge browser is the answer if you want to use more than just one account for each app, including Discord, Twitter, and Gmail. If you're having trouble with Firefox or Chrome, try Stack. Therefore, given that the error is due to a permission conflict, fixing it can be as easy as trying a different browser. Actually, the blame for the "Google Drive access denied" error is mostly on the browser, which creates a permission conflict when trying to use the credentials of one account to open another's files.Ĭonventional browsers are not designed to work properly with multi-accounting and have these types of problems when dealing with the data of many accounts of the same app simultaneously open. Try a Different BrowserĪs a matter of fact, Google here is not the source of the issue. Let's look at a few solutions for this error. Hopefully, most of the time fixing it is an easy and straightforward process. It is not at all unusual coming across the mildly infuriating "Google Drive access denied" error while attempting to download or access a document. These are sweetened and intended to be used as juice flavoring. When buying calamansi juice, make sure you don’t buy something that’s labeled “juice” or “concentrate”. You still have to peel them though after cooking. For salad recipes, I usually buy frozen shrimp with the heads removed already and deveined. Some days we had lechon manok (charbroiled whole chicken), liempo (grilled pork belly), kinilaw (raw fish salad), and panga (grilled tuna jaw). This salad is my attempt at recreating those happy, carefree days of my youth spent hanging out at the local beaches with friends, and a motley assortment of snacks and drinks. Not the fresh one, mind you, but rather the neon pink instant powdered ones. On rare instances when we had extra cash on hand, the go to upgrade was gin-po, a cocktail made of cheap gin mixed with pomelo juice. However, we mostly kept the drinking to private properties like our homes or private, fee charging beaches and not in bars or restaurants. There is no official, or at least strictly enforced minimum drinking age, so high schoolers drinking was quite the norm. The kernel panics almost never happened when I was sitting in front of the Mac, and once I restarted, macOS restored the state of the Mac to where I was before the panic. macOS used to generate panic logs that I could access in Console. (I know all this because I saved 47 panic reports manually in my BBEdit Notes window. Several times it even worked perfectly for 2 to 4 months before succumbing to another spate of panics. My iMac sometimes panicked twice a day more commonly, a week or two would pass between panics. I wasn’t been sticking with macOS 12 Monterey on my 2020 27-inch iMac because of concerns about Ventura reliability or app incompatibility. Kernel Panics and Boot Authentication Failures As always, I recommend Joe Kissell’s Take Control of Ventura for upgrade help. (We won’t speak here of the abomination that is Ventura’s System Settings it’s not a reason to avoid upgrading, but it is undeniably awful.) Having the previous release available helps me compare behaviors or interfaces between the two and see if bugs have been fixed or introduced. Even when a new version of macOS is working well, I like to keep one of my Macs on the previous release until I feel confident recommending the upgrade to everyone. You might wonder why I don’t keep my Macs in sync all the time. The longer answer was, “But I still haven’t upgraded my iMac, and once I do, I’ll write about it.” My short answer was, “Yes, it’s fine,” because I have been running Ventura on my M1 MacBook Air since the beta last year and have experienced no problems. Using a developer profile without an associated developer account is no longer a possibility, so only registered developers will be able to get access to the developer beta going forward. With the launch of iOS 16.4, Apple introduced a new beta installation method for those who are enrolled in Apple's Developer Program or who use the public beta testing option. What did I do wrong? You used a 50/50 mix. Now I’m worried about the 4+ quarts of tapwater that are left. What concerns me is? I was only able to get 8 quarts of the 50-50 mix back in. For the corrosion and anti-freeze protection of a 50/50 mix, the mixed specific heat would be about 0.80 BTU/lb-degF which is still below what pure water can do for heat transport from the engine block to the radiator. So water is far superior for transporting heat per lb of flow than pure EG. Pure water has a specific heat assigned as 1.0 BTU/lb-degF and pure ethylene glycol is 0.60 BTU/lb-degF. The primary reason to change out your coolant mixture on a scheduled time interval is the degredation of the anticorrosive properties of the coolant. Pure water has been shown to provide better cooling capability than an antifreeze mix but does not give the required chemical protection. I don't have my owner's manual handy but a rule of thumb is at least 50/50 coolant to water mix and not to exceed 60% coolant. If the coolant (antifreeze) level is not high enough, it will not protect chemically against the aforementioned maladays. One of the major purposes of coolant, "antifreeze" is to maintain a proper chemical balance in the cooling system to deter acids and electrolysis. I choose to disagree with the posting using the temperature protection as the source for the percentage of coolant mixed with water. Look up how low this protects you and if your car doesn't see temps that low call it a day. What you are now according to your post is 4 qts of Dexcool and 8 quarts of water or a 33% mix. Doing this is a minor PITA and may take awhile since the thermostat is closed and the only passage around it is usually a small hole. You now have a 50/50 mix with all new coolant. If you are a perfectionist then you can flush the system with tap water until clear water comes out, Then drain out half the coolant capacity and replace with 100 % coolant. If you want it all out then you can use pressurized air to force the rest out and even then you won't get it all. You can't get all the coolant out gravity draining using the petcock on the radiator. I haven't had an issue since I got rid of my last car with green Prestone in it in 1999.Today I changed out the DEXCOOL in my C5 Corvette with new DEXCOOL. In close to 50 years of having my own cars I had lots of cooling system issues when the green stuff was the only stuff you could get. If you go to the old fashioned green coolant your coolant change interval will go to two years instead of five and you will have more coolant issues. I have never heard of anybody with a LS engine having any cooling system problems due to DexCool. My daughter let her 02 Olds go 6 years before I insisted she had to change it. I keep the coolant in the radiator until I reach 5 years and change it although it still looks like new. I have never had any issues since I purchased my 97 Vette which was the first car I had with Dex in it. GM has produced millions of vehicles with DexCool in them and only had issues with a few engines. The only thing left out of that small number of incidents is a so called class action law suit that doesn't have much oomph behind it since there are so few members of the class. Those engines had seals that were not compatible with DexCool. Anyone using Preston or any other coolant? It caused some problems in engines built more than a decade ago. I know most of you guys recommend Dexcool, but Ive read that it has caused problems. Make sure that you use a hydrometer and get the CORRECT coolant to water ratio to keep the engine from freezing or boiling over. I always use distilled water to dilute the coolant. Guys that live in places that seldom see temps lower than 32 deg don’t need coolant that protects down to -35 degs! Depending on where you live DEEP SOUTH or ARTIC TUNDRA North East you can use more or less antifreeze to water. Drain one last time and refill the system with the PROPER ratio DEXCOOL & WATER. If you want the best cooling system efficiency, drain ALL the coolant! Refill and drain the system with fresh water until it runs clean/clear. NONE of my cars have ever experienced a cooling system issue as a result of the coolant! PERIOD!Īs long as the system is properly maintained, is NOT mixed with a GLYCOL “silicate” (GREEN) coolant and has a sealed reservoir tank with the proper PSI cap, you will be ABSOLUTY fine.
